Philip Hurst

Starting at the tender age of 8, Philip has over 20 years experience in the dance industry.

Trained by some of the top Coaches in the UK such as Paul Taylor, Margaret Redmond and David Truman, and performing on the open competitive dance circuit, Philip became a well-known and established competitor winning his first championship only five months after taking up the sport.

During his competitive career he achieved many accolades in the dancing world as well as being spotted by talent scouts and performing a staring role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Evita and performing on television alongside West End star Christopher Corcoran, although, there was only one real passion for him and from an early age Philip decided to commit all of his time to Perfecting his dancing knowledge.

After competing in the UK and around the world on the open competitive circuit for 12 uninterrupted years he decided to turn his passion to teaching and has never looked back.

Philip is a fully qualified Dance teacher and a member of the International Dance Teachers Association and the Allied Dance Teachers Association, as well as being an elected member of the Guild of Professional Teachers of Dance and the Dramatic Arts, and being the established teacher of several nationwide champions and stars of the musical theatre.

As well as teaching Philip is also an experienced Adjudicator, lecturer and choreographer.

Hurst Dance prides itself on being a friendly-run Dance School, with a very close-knit team of family and friends that have helped, and continue to help, it to grow and provide an amazing level of care towards our members.

From teaching children to adults, social dancers to competitive champions, we have a specialist knowledge in many forms of dance.
